What is Start for Life?
Child health experts agree that the care given during the first 1,001 days (from pregnancy to age 2) is really important for a child's future. This time has a huge effect on their health, well-being, brain development and future opportunities.
Families can get help from lots of sources like healthcare providers, volunteers, family, or friends. We want to make it easier for families in Stoke-on-Trent to find help and support during this time.

Health literacy
We understand that some words and phrases may be difficult to understand, especially when it comes to health and medical language. Please use the NHS health literacy dictionary to help make things easier to understand.
Co-Production
Co-production has brought together parents, carers, the local authority, NHS health providers and third sector organisations.
Partners have worked closely together to explore current service offers across the city and how this can support the Start for Life offer and Family Hub development.
The Parent and Carer panel is being developed to continue to influence the development of the Family Hub offer and Start for Life offer. Bringing together the voices of local communities to help shape the service offer to meet the needs of families.
